Droyts has a rich history dating back to 1893 when it was founded as ‘The Victoria Fine Soap Works’ in Minsk, Belarus.
Now located in a Victorian cotton mill in Chorley, Lancashire, using century-old methods, we still produce our supremely cleansing and highly moisturising glycerine soap, which is vegan friendly, cruelty free and suitable for all skin types.
We are thrilled to anounce that The Factory Shop, right here at our historic home, Progress Mill, is now open. For over 85 years, we’ve crafted our renowned soaps behind the iconic big blue door in Chorley, and now, for the first time, we’re opening it up to the public.
You can now explore our full range of beatifully displayed products, including heritage collections, travel soaps, shampoo bars, and gift sets. There’s truly something for everyone.
But here’s the real highlight: we’ve transformed part of the shop into a museum. Carefully curated historical artefacts from the Droyt archives will be on display, offering a fascinating glimpse into our rich history. You’ll discover vintage soaps, antique equipment, handwritten notes from our founders, and original letters from around the world.
Learn about our collaboration with Macy’s in New York, our partnership with Biba, and even our involvement with the Ministry of Food during the war effort. With 131 years of history lining the walls, The Factory Shop offers an immersive journey through time.
